I’ve found that upon the first time playing a video that the audio comes in a second late. Normally this is only noticeable when the first second of a video contains speech. The second time playing the video this does not occur, so it is an audio caching issue.
The easiest way to resolve this is to create an off-screen button for each video with a trigger (that contains a few actions) that can be “simulate-tapped” upon entering the scene. This button has actions for the following:
- Play the video
- Set the volume of the video to zero (at the same time as the play action)
- Stops the video (a 1/4 second later)
- Rewind
- Set the volume of the video to 1.0
I’ll create an offscreen button for each video and name it “Video_Preload”, where “Video” is one word from the video’s title that makes it easily identifiable.
This ensures that every video will play the audio from the beginning the first time it is played.

Hello @cullenb,
I have not been able to replicate an issue in the delay of audio within a video. I have tested both Player 8 and Player Classic.
Would you mind reaching out to us via our support channel, and sharing your experience that you are seeing this issue in. We will take a look and see if we also have the delay with your video or if there is something else going on.
Thanks,
Ryan
@cullenb,
I was able to replicate the audio issue. This issue is only when using Player Classic, it does not happen in Player 8.
There are some other options you can use to avoid this issue while using Player Classic.
- Enable Autoplay on the video, instead of using the Play action.
or
- Change the video media player to VLC

Thanks, Ryan. This workaround would only be applicable to those using the Play action in Player Classic. Out of curiosity, is there a specific scenario where the Play action would be preferable to use instead of Autoplay?
@cullenb,
The play action could be used if you have several videos showing at the same time and want to play them individually. Having Autoplay on multiple shown videos would have them all playing at the same time.

hi all! Just a random coincidence - I have a similar topic right now and I just noticed this this conversation in my inbox.
We are on player 8 and a few times users complained to me that when they run the video the first time, they have audio starting only after 3 seconds, after re-opening - it works perfectly. They say that it happened on different PCs/experiences. I did a few attempts to replicate the issue, but for me it behaves normally (even after reboot and restart). So can’t even raise a ticket
but just decided to share since it’s similar to original issue.
Maybe I will try to find a video that starts with a speech and see if this will trigger the issue.
Hello @roman.polyanskiy,
If your client is having this issue even with Player 8, let us know via our support channel and we can help to determine where the issue may be.
If you do put in a ticket please share the experience with intuiface/support.
Thanks,
Ryan
Hey @rdriscoll - the issue is that I’ve heard about the issue but could never reproduce. I will try more videos and see if I can get this experience of if it stays a mystery
