I am testing out the free version of intuiface and attempting to save a project but it is telling me ‘access to the path is denied’. I have tried to save the project to different folders on my desktop but the same message keeps popping up. Any ideas please?

Very strange indeed, you may want to open a ticket on support and explain your issue with some details (Operating System, Version, Composer version etc).
