Using Intuiface for broadcast television would be a great idea. But Intuiface has to support NDI. Basically, it will allow the use of sending the content over IP with alpha channel support. This way, it can be used for all kinds of real-time content presentations. Take a look at the video in this link
The ability to integrate NDI feeds into Intuiface would be an incredible feature, unlocking amazing possibilities for live production environments.
Please bring this feature.
Hi @peter.bogucki and welcome to the Intuiface community!
Could you tell us more about your use case?
What kind of hardware would you be using to run Intuiface (Windows, Android, BrightSign, otherā¦)?
Are you using any specific hardware to get that NDI feed in?
As a first integration test and a temporary solution, if running on Windows, could you use a software such as OBS to convert your NDI input into a Virtual Camera, then use our Webcam Asset to display it within Intuiface?
Thanks
Seb
Hello,
Very interesting. The OBS part, I never though about it.
Over 15 years ago, we developed an application for convocation called Ce-Live. We used Newtek Tricaster and NDI (Newtek is the inventor of NDI) to send live camera output via NDI (network). We used a software called Live Text which is a Character Generator, to overlay students names on top of the vide stream. The features that we needed most were the ability to read dynamic text or images from a database orā¦, and to set the background as a video background, which is basically, allows an incoming video stream as the background. Initially we used the Tricaster downsteam keyer, before NDI was developed. It was a hit in APAC. Universities use it to manage their convocations, stream live the event to Facebook and on the Internet.
I bolded the text, to highlight what is needed in Intuiface. Basically, instead of select, images, or video or color background, we select NDI. We then output the graphics, text from Intuiface on top of the video stream. With Intuiface power, we could do a lot more than just displaying text.
