Hello community,
I have a collection asset that has 10 dad’s jokes in two columns. The first column is the question the second column is the punchline. What I wanted was to show the question first, and after x seconds, I show the punchline. The joke stays for 5 more seconds and then the next joke appears.
I managed to do it, but I did not like the way I did it. Is there an easy way to do it?
More seriously though, it might be better if you contact support about this, so you can share your XP as a reader only with intuiface/support and see how you actually built it.
I’ll have a look and give you my insights on your approach.
Interestingly, after watching one of your webinar with @geoff and heard one of his dad jokes, I wanted to create this experience to promote my web app feedsome.ai I also downloaded Dad Joke Experience from the market place. It is very impressive. But I was thinking of passive digital signage, and not an interactive one. You can see at the end of the video where AI generated dad joke. Not as funny as Geof though.
“Because if he’s a bad electrician, people literally get shocked! It’s current humor — you just need to stay plugged in.”
Sorry, I hate these jokes…
More seriously @ahmed, share your XP with intuiface/support so I can take a look at it. With such a simple JSON / XML feed, the structure / timed animation should be fairly simple to implement with a Swap collection and a timer trigger.
Nothing helps a joke like having to explain it…. Funny enough, I was wondering how universal dad joke humor is. Probably very much so in concept, but it’s extremely language-dependent.
As a rule of thumb, never try to explain dad’s joke. In any case I have shared the experience. As I said, I managed to make it work, but I was not happy with the way I did it.
