Would it be possible to change the default property of containers to something other than “FREE” eg. when we create a project select the default from “FREE”, “PINNABLE”, "STATIC"
This would save tons of time potentially.

Did you try to create your own design accelerator? You could save a static image as an accelerator and use the design accelerator toolbar instead of the assets toolbar when needed.
