Caching for Media URL's in Excel

I’m wondering if there is a way for IF to ‘cache’ cloud media files that are referenced in Excel via url? So if we had a gallery of image links in an excel…IF could bring them locally into a temp folder so the gallery can still view them if the player PC is offline?

Could it also do this for videos, PDF’s? I think this would save a lot of time, especially for designers who update XP content through a cloud system of some kind.

Hi @AlexB,

There is a cache when using Excel + URLs but it is a session cache. meaning that images aren’t reload until IF Player is stopped and launched again. If the PC goes offline at this moment, it works, although only for images at the moment (not video or PDF).
If Player is launched offline, the cache mechanism won’t work.

Got it, thanks for the clarification @Seb. It would be a big improvement to have the images, video and pdf’s cache offline. I know it’s a big thing to ask for lol. But I can’t help but think a CMS (whether created by IF or 3rd party) is inevitable. So thinking ahead, maybe this could be a helpful puzzle piece?
